LVI and TMD
If you are like many of the TMD or neuromuscular dentistry patients who visit our cosmetic dentistry office, you may be wondering how LVI trains neuromuscular dentists to identify and treat TMD (Temporomandibular Joint Disorder).
LVI stands for the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. This post-graduate training center provides rigorous and extensive training for general dentists to qualify them as cosmetic and neuromuscular dentists. This enables them to diagnose and treat TMD and other neuromuscular dentistry problems.
TMD occurs when the jaw joint comes out of alignment. This misalignment could be a result of trauma, dental work that failed to take the joint alignment into account, or chronic tooth grinding and clenching.
The jaw joints are in front of each ear. When they become misaligned, there can be serious dental and other painful problems like worn or sensitive teeth, jaw pain, severe headaches, and facial pain. Dr. Dooley has been trained at LVI to treat these TMD symptoms so that you can get back to living your life more comfortably.
If you are suffering from TMD pain and live in the Glenview, Illinois area, please schedule an initial consultation with the LVI-trained neuromuscular dentists at the Colonial Dental Group.
