What to do if You Damage or Lose a Porcelain Veneer

Porcelain veneers can transform your smile and give you the appearance that you have always wanted. For many of our patients, porcelain veneers have helped them achieve smiles that are free from chips, cracks, stains, and even crookedness.

Porcelain veneers are permanently bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth. The strong bonding adhesive will ensure that you will be able to use your porcelain veneers in exactly the same way you use your normal teeth.

If, however, you do lose or damage a veneer, we will be happy to replace it for you. Simply contact us to schedule an appointment. We will take an impression of the tooth that needs a replacement and fit you with a temporary porcelain veneer. We will send the impression to our dental lab so that a new, custom porcelain veneer can be fabricated. In a second visit we will attach it and bond it firmly to the tooth.

If you are worried about getting porcelain veneers because you are unsure about losing or damaging them, we have many other cosmetic dentistry procedure options for improving a smile, including dental bonding, porcelain crowns, and professional teeth whitening.

If you live in the Chicago or Glenview, Illinois area and would like to learn more about porcelain veneers or any other cosmetic dentistry procedure, please schedule an initial consultation with the Colonial Dental Group today.
